Arthur Haines Explains Traditional Acorn Harvesting
Not exactly alternative energy, but I thought it may be of interest to some. Haines explains that native people obtained up to half their calories from acorns, and that they are one of the easier to forage sources of calories around here.

There would be a lot of hungry natives north of Lincoln, as there are very, very few oak trees up here.

Is it considered a conspiracy if they really are after you?Huh

RE: Arthur Haines Explains Traditional Acorn Harvesting
I find the best way to harvest acorns is with a rifle or shotgun and eat the animals that feed on them.

For instance, I always find it hard to fathom how wood ducks can eat those ball-bearings and somehow do so quite nicely, what a muscle that gizzard must be!

Food Stamps has changed my life on actual acorn gathering! Just kidding, but there is truth there. : )
