Roxanne Quimby contaminated 87,000 acres of the Maine woods and today Barack Hussein Obama drove a stake through its heart.

Washington, D.C. - Today, President Obama, despite opposition by Maine's local residents and elected officials, unilaterally created a national monument in Maine's North Woods. House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) issued the following statement:
"The President is using the Centennial as a cover to subvert the will of Maine's citizens and leaders. The only votes taken on this proposal, at the local and state level, have demonstrated opposition from Mainers. If the President cared about local voices and improving our National Park System, he would have done this through the public process and not behind closed doors. Instead, he's hijacked a moment of celebration to advance powerfuelite special interests over Maine's economy and citizens."

I don't know the specific language or terms of the "deal," but one would hope the next administration would simply put the land up for sale to the highest bidder, or parcel it out to several bidders, and generate some federal revenue to reduce our national debt. Plus, it would put the land back into the state tax stream. This would be a win-win for all taxpayers.

That would make the most sense.
It really does not matter what federal designation it receives.
It's the federal ownership that is the problem.
From here, it will morph, eventually, to the entire north woods.

Is it considered a conspiracy if they really are after you?Huh

Under threat: the three national monuments in Trump's sights
"April, Donald Trump ordered a sweeping review of 27 national monuments, from Maine to Oregon. The monuments were set aside over the last three decades by Bill Clinton, George W Bush, and Barack Obama. Trump’s review sought to explore whether the protected land should be opened up to create economic opportunities for industries such as oil, gas, mining and timber."

"Today, Trump’s interior secretary Ryan Zinke delivered the results of the review to the president, recommending that boundary changes be made to a “handful” of monuments. While Zinke has not made his recommendations public, The Washington Post reports that the following monuments are targeted to be reduced in size or opened to industrial use."

Interior secretary recommends Trump alter at least three national monuments, including Bears Ears
"No President should use the authority under the Antiquities Act to restrict public access, prevent hunting and fishing, burden private land, or eliminate traditional land uses, unless such action is needed to protect the object,” Zinke said in a statement.

“The recommendations I sent to the president on national monuments will maintain federal ownership of all federal land and protect the land under federal environmental regulations, and also provide a much needed change for the local communities who border and rely on these lands for hunting and fishing, economic development, traditional uses, and recreation.”
